Mahaveer Chakra Awardee Col. Santosh Babu’s parents felicitated by Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma
A native of Suryapet in Telangana, Santosh Babu fought against Chinese without any weapons and resisted the attempts of the Chinese forces.
Bikkumalla Upender and Manjula, parents of Col. B. Santosh Babu who was awarded the Mahavir Chakra posthumously after being killed in a clash with Chinese army in June 2020, were felicitated by Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma on the occasion of Republic Day on Wednesday.
Col B. Santosh Babu of the 16 Bihar Regiment died in Galwan Valley clashes with the People Liberation Army of China in Ladakh on June 15, 2020 besides 19 other soldiers.
A native of Suryapet in Telangana, Santosh Babu fought against Chinese without any weapons and resisted the attempts of Chinese and “prevented them from even taking an inch of land that belongs to India,” as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the bravery of Santosh Babu in his tribute.
After Galwan Valley incident, Col Santosh Babu’s wife Santoshi, has been appointed as a deputy collector by the Telangana government.
