Rulers come and go, but your vision for Yadadri will go down in the annals of history: MLC Kaushik Reddy praises CM KCR
The project, which cost over Rs 1,000 crore, is almost complete and is ready for a formal inauguration tentatively in March 2022.
Padi Kaushik Reddy, ruling TRS party MLC, presented the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao a rare memento, depicting the vision of the CM for Yadadri temple, at Pragati Bhavan on Saturday.
Previously known as Yadagiri Gutta, where Lakshminarasimha Swamy, the half-lion-half-human incarnations of Lord Sri Maha Vishnu, is worshipped by people of Telangana, has been renamed officially as Yadadri and is now in the jurisdiction of Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, some 70km from Hyderabad.
After the formation of Telangana state on 2 June 2014, KCR wanted to transform the temple, which was a modest cave shrine at the time, into a grand religious center with all modern facilities to attract and
accommodate people from all over the country, on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
