The Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950.
Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday extended greetings to people on 73rd Republic Day to be celebrated on January 26 Wednesday.
The Constitution of India came into effect on this day in year 1950, 72 years ago, and India has become a Republic country, where the people have the collective power to design their destiny, Governor said.
“This is the day to celebrate our democratic and Republic country and be proud of its sovereignty. I offer my greatest tributes to Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar and other architects of our great Indian Constitution who enshrined the noble principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity,” Dr Tamilisai said in her message on Tuesday.
At a time when the country is celebrating the Azadika Amrit Mahotsav — the 75 Years of Independence, it is important for all of us to take forward the spirit of Republic day among all sections of the people.
I salute all the frontline warriors of the Covid-19 for their relentless and selfless services since the outbreak of the Covid-19 and for making the vaccination drive a successful one. I appeal all people to be more vigilant and follow all Covid precautions to counter the 3rd wave effectively.
On this auspicious occasion of 73rd Republic day, let us all re-dedicate ourselves to the cause of upholding the ideals, rights and values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
